Kestrel builds closed-back over-ear headphones, in-ear monitors and care objects in small batches from machined aluminium, lambskin and biocellulose.
Kestrel makes closed-back listening instruments in a small Rotterdam workshop. The first series uses a 40 mm biocellulose driver set inside a machined aluminium earcup, with memory-foam pads wrapped in vegetable-tanned lambskin. The headband is a single strip of spring steel, shaped by hand and finished with full-grain leather. No logo is moulded into the plastic; the only mark is a small serial number etched inside the yoke.
These are made for long listening sessions at a desk, on a train, or in a dim room with an album played end to end. The detachable cable system accepts three lengths, each terminated in the same locking 2.5 mm connector. The earcups rotate flat for travel, and the included hemp case uses no foam.
